I went on a fishing trip with some guys that I worked with at Exxon. They usually go to Port O Conner every year around this time to fish for Bull Reds. Most of them are retired also.  Its three nights of fishing, eating and a little drinking. I"m not a really serious fisherman but I went just to see everyone and have a good time. We didn"t really catch many fish on this trip but a couple of guys got into the Bull reds on our last night.  There was eight of us and we rented a big house on the intercoastal canal. It was a really good trip and I look forward to doing it again sometime. I rode down with Willie Fowler.. The rest of the guys got down there at different times. There was John Kocurek, his son Jonathan, Gordon Davis, Mitch Rossi,Eddie Rios and Pat Schnell .

Aug 29-Sept 4 Back to Texas

Riverside

Sammi
Sammi is swinging
We got up early Wednesday morning and started back to Texas. We had planned on going thru Arkansas but due to the impending arrival of Issac we decided to skirt around  thru Oklahoma . We planning to stay somewhere inside the Texas State line and then head to Riverside, TX for Labor day. On our way Kristi called and asked if could be in Riverside by noon on Thursday. Sammi needed someone to watch her while Kristi went to the Dr. We said no problem.  When we got to the Texas state line i told Susan that I was feeling good and if we kept going we could make Riverside by 9:00 pm. That way we wouldn't have to get up and drive in the morning. She said fine and we kept going.  After a 14 hour day we pulled in at 9:05 pm. I didn't set the trailer up just backed in and plugged up. We spent the night in the house. It sure did feel good to sleep in a king sized bed. The next morning I set the trailer up so that we could get the jet ski out of the garage. There was no doubt we were back in Texas as the humidity was hitting me pretty good. Our Ac on the trailer was back in use. The temp for all labor day weekend hit 100 every day. Whew, gonna take some getting adjusting too. There was a lot of friends and family for the weekend and was Mike Z birthday also. The kids all had a great time swimming and knee boarding behind the jet ski. We finally arrived home Tuesday Sept 4. It did feel good to be home but now the work begins. There is a lot of things to be done after being gone for 3 months. We really had a good trip and learned a lot of things for future trips. We are not planning on going anywhere till after Christmas when we head to Junction.  Even though its hot now, deer season is just around the corner.
