Sept 23-29 Its been a nice September

This has been the coolest September I can remember in a long time. We have also had a lot of rain which is good.  Most of our time has been spent at the deer lease. Susan is recovering nicely from her surgery. I have had a lot of back/neck issues. I did get a MRI done and got the not so good results back last Friday. I am going to try the injections to see if they work.We had several folks show up his weekend at the lease and we had fun. We went to Kenna's soccer game and then brought all the girls to the lease with us. Sunday evening I went with Mike Z to look at a deck boat he is considering. It would take the place  of the pontoon boat. It was a nice boat and he may  make an offer on it.

Sept 8-23,2014 Home and Deer Lease

We made it home after Susan's surgery on Tuesday. She felt pretty good and didn't have any problems. We have not done much but go to the deer lease a couple of times. Susan kept Sammi one weekend while the rest of the crew went to an Aggie football game.We spent the last five days at the lease . We have have had lots of rain and the weather has been a little cooler than normal. Susan overdid it a little arranging the new kitchen at the lease and is sore. We got a lot of  things done, There is a little cool front coming in that corresponds with the first official day of fall.

Sept 8-----Leaving Mexico headed to San Antonio

We got up at 6 this morning ready to start home. Susan gets to sip clear liquids today. She had a good night, waking up once with a little nausea which passed quickly.Dr  Alvarez came by about 7:30 to check on us. Rosie picked us up at 8 and we headed for Eagle Pass. Border crossing was a breeze. We picked our car up and headed to San Antonio. Susan had a couple of nausea spells but they didn't last long. We were checked in and in our room by 11:30. We took a nap.Later we took a little trip to Walmart and back to the hotel.  We just chilled the rest of the day. That evening Steve, his sister and brother in law (who lives in Corpus Chris
ti) loaded up in my car and we went to Rudy's to eat BBQ .  Michelle stayed in the room with Susan and they had chicken broth. I think we got the best meal. Steve and Michele fly out in the morning at 6. We are just gonna mosey home tomorrow.

Sept 5-7 Mexico and Surgery

Sep 5--We left the house about 6 am headed for Eagle Pass. Susan is going to have sleeve surgery tomorrow just across the border. Dr Alvarez has done about 6000 of these surgery's. We spend the night in Eagle Pass, a car picks us and another couple up and delivers us to the hospital. They bring us back Monday morning.  We got to Eagle Pass about 1 and checked in. The other couple flew in from Missouri. One of Dr Alvarez staff picked them up at San Antonio and brought them to the hotel. There names are Steve and Michele Dion. Steve  had this surgery last March and has dropped 120 lbs.  He says it has saved his life, Michelle is doing it this time. They are nice people. We carried them to Walmart and then went out to eat, at least Steve and I could eat. Susan and Michelle are on a preop diet.  Big day tomorrow.

Sep 6---We both got a good nights sleep last night. We met Steve downstairs at 6:40 and had breakfast. Rosie, (Dr. Alvarez's driver) picked us up at about 7:15 and off we went. 15 minutes later  we were at the hospital. Michelle and Susan got their blood work and xrays  done. Michelle is going first. Surgery went well. Susan recovered quickly and was able to do some walking by 5 pm.. Michele had some nausea and slept most of the evening. Steve and I were taken by our escort (Jessica) to eat supper. We ate at Wings and Ribs, the wings were good, but the ribs were lacking. The chips and salsa were great. Tomorrow I want some good Mexican food.

Sept 7--We both had a good nights sleep. Dr Alvarez came by about 8 to check on Susan and she is doing great. They took the IV out  and she gets ice chips for today. She was able to take a shower and we did some walking.  Our escort on days (Anna Lee) went and got some barbacoa tacos for breakfast. They were fabulous, wish I had ordered more, she also brought me two homemade chocolate cup cakes.More walking during the day. They are supposed to walk some very hour. Jessica took us to a small Mexican restaurant for supper. My food was really good. Michele was doing better today but still having a hard time. We should be leaving about 8 in the morning.

July 14- Sept 4 Home, Hospital, ,Home, Peyton and exhausted

Its been awhile since my last post. We made it home in three days. Our last day was a 12 hour day. Whew, I don't like them long days. Anyway we spent the first 12 days mostly at Hermann Hospital. Kristen had several surgery's and then she and Peyton came to our house. She has to keep her leg elevated for about three months. I have to clean and bandage the foot every day.  She spends most of her day in bed. Peyton is growing and very active. We had his one year birthday party at our house. He is such a good baby but it is still tough on two old people to keep up with him all day. We have had  a couple of weekends off. We went to Toledo Bend for Jeff & Ladonna's anniversary. We didn’t pull our trailer just rented a cabin for two nights. We also pulled our trailer and set up at the deer lease for the season.  We spent labor day week end there. Mike and Lavonna came up for one day. We rode Ranger all day. The following week I carried Kristen and Peyton back to Bryan. They have a person who is going to help during the day. I headed back and spent a couple of days at the deer lease.
