Jan 30,2015 Another Fun Day

Every morning has been cool here and today was no exception. Maggie and I took a nice walk this morning. Along the way we checked to make sure our Sea Eagle was still there. I figured it would be all right and it was. Later in the morning I took Susan to Teresa"s. She was off and they spent the day together. I went to the grocery store and then found a place to fill one of my propane tanks. When I got back it had warmed up enough to get on the river for awhile. It was quiet and I had it to myself. The sun never really came out and I didn't see any gators. When I got back I got the truck and loaded the kayak to take back to camp.  I may not go again as it will be the weekend and probably lots of folks
.Lots of campers moved out today and more started coming in later. The park will be full for the weekend. I went to Teresa"s house around 7 pm. Her husband Joel was coming in so we went to meet him. We ate at a little Mexican restaurant and then went to a little pub next to it. We had a good time.
Its still there

Jan 29,2015 Another Pretty Day

It was another beautiful day today. It started out cool but warmed up.We had no plans to leave camp today. I actually washed my clothes at 5:00 am. Most Florida State Parks have a couple of washer/dryers at their bath  houses. This comes in pretty handy. I again built a little fire and cooked breakfast outside. Susan put her clothes to wash and we went to the Ranger office so she could talk to them about alligators on the river.I didn't go in but he told her that the gators wouldn't bother you. After her clothes were washed and dried we put the kayak in the river. After about 10-15 minutes I put her back on land. She was still uncomfortable and not having any fun. I went on and never found any gators. I tied the kayak near our camp hoping that no one gets it as I plan to kayak some more tomorrow. I took my afternoon nap while Susan watched tv. That evening I built another fire and cooked supper. It was a nice slow day.
They could rent more of these if they had motors

Jan 28, 2015 A Lazy Day

It was another chilly morning but with little or no wind. It warmed up later in the day with plenty of sunshine. I built a nice fire and cooked breakfast outside. We sat by the fire for awhile and then decided to go to Camping World. The Camping World near us here has a huge sales and service center probably the biggest I have seen.  We bought a few small items and then window shopped a few trailers. We didn't find anything we couldn't live without so we headed back home. We both took a little nap. Later we headed into Tampa to meet Julianne at the International Plaza. The Cheesecakes Factory was our choice of restaurants. We had a nice supper visiting with Julianne. She is doing an internship here and just arrived a few weeks ago.Tomorrow we plan to just chill some more.,

Jan 27, 2015 A Cool Day in Hillsborough River State Park

Dang it, it was 37 when I got up this morning .It did warm up to 68 but with the wind it still felt chilly. Our rv spot is nice but  there is not much sun getting thru the trees. I carried Susan to Teresa"s boutique  shop and she spent the day there. I piddled around camp with Maggie. I took a nice bike ride and did a little walking also. It was just too windy and cool for me to get on the river with the kayak.  I went back to Teresa's  for supper.and . then we headed back home.

Jan 26,2015 Travel Day to Hillsborough River State Park

I got up this morning and it was misting a little. Luckily later it quit and I walked Maggie, then put the back jacks up. Susan got up and we had one rain shower and then it quit. I got the truck hooked up and we were on the road by 8:30.  We had a nice easy drive and arrived at the state park about noon.We got set up and right before I finished Teresa showed up. We sat outside and visited for a little bit. It was windy and made it feel pretty cool.  We then headed back to Teresa"s house. We had burgers and sausage for an early supper. Later we headed back to the trailer. No pictures today

Jan 25,2015 Our Last Day at Long Point, Melbourne Beach

It was cold when I got up this morning about 42. The sun came out and it warmed up to about 67. It really was a nice day. Susan wrenched her back  and just had to rest all day. I took the kayak and paddled around the small islands here.It was nice as long as I could stay away from the wind. After I got back I started picking things up getting ready to move tomorrow. Its supposed to be raining just about the time I will  ready to hook up. Vicky and Alex came by to say their good byes. We have had a nice time visiting with them. I am pretty sure we will be back next year.

Jan 24,2015 A Lazy Day

I got up to rain and wind this morning. Most of the rain was over but the wind was howling around 20-25 mph. The front moved in but the temperatures had not dropped. Since Alex/Vicky had other plans today we just piddled around slowly this morning. After finally getting dressed, we drove into Melbourne. Surprise surprise, Susan found a quilt shop to go to. Then we headed to Walmart and picked up a few supplies and two life jackets. We got back to the trailer and unloaded. My plans to kayak were canceled due to the high winds. The sun had come out and it was beginning to be a pretty day. I told Susan that we should drive down to Vero Beach and eat a late lunch and just look around. We did and really enjoyed ourselves. It is  supposed to be cold tomorrow morning but clear sky's.

Jan 23,2015 Sebastian Inlet State Park

We woke up to another pretty day. I took a nice bike ride and then Susan, Maggie, and I took a nice walk. About 11 Alex and Vicky picked us up. We went to a small cafe close by for lunch. It was very good. We decided to go visit Sebastian Inlet State Park. It is the pass from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian River. We stopped at the Visitor Center and toured their little museum. We drove thru the campground and decided we would love to stay here next year. The state park is on both sides of the inlet so we drove back over to the other side.  They had nice walkways along the inlet with the beach on one side. The water in the inlet is pretty and turbulent. Lots of folks fishing . We saw a few bluefish caught along with one stingray. We stopped In the gift shop/grill and had a beverage on the veranda. We headed back home and took a small walk around the hiking paths. After Alex/Vicky left I picked up a few things and put our awning up. The winds were picking up and a cold front with rain is supposed to move in tonight.

Jan 22, 2015 A Walk on the Beach Melbourne Fl

We had a nice slow lazy day. I just piddled around camp this morning visiting with some of the neighbors. I loaded the kayak in the truck as we thought we might get on the water. Oops, I couldn't find our life jackets. Usually they stay in the storage compartments but when I rearranged them before our trip, I must have left them in the garage.Oh well I can borrow a couple from Alex.We went to a small seafood market and picked up some  salmon and shrimp to grill for lunch. We headed to Vicky's then. Susan also had brought laundry to do. We just visited for awhile and Alex grilled the food and we had a nice lunch. Afterwards we decided to head to the beach since it was such a pretty day. We walked and Susan collected a few seashells.I waded the water and it wasn't too cold but no one wanted to join me. When we got back we headed home. Maggie and I took a really good walk as it was so pretty. I decided to go look for some life jackets as I wanted to kayak at sunset. Not many places near  no one had adult jackets. Looks like I will have to make a trip to town sometime. The weather is suppose to change tomorrow evening. We might get some rain. I am going to add some pictures of Luke that I got from Kyle,

Jan 20,2015 Boat Ride and Rocket Launch

It was a warmer morning when I got up. Really an overcast day but little wind. Maggie an I took a long walk around the park. Long Point Park is a big campground . Lots of snowbirds here. The county does a good job of maintaining the place. While there is nothing fancy here I would stay here again.Alex and Vicky came by and picked us up. We  ate breakfast at a little place on the beach and then headed to the boat marina. We headed up the Indian River toward the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean was a little rough so we just cruised the river. We saw several dolphins and lots of interesting sights. The day stayed overcast so no sunshine. After we got back Susan and I both took a little nap.We went back to Vicky's at 5  .She cooked supper again for us. Later we walked to the beach to watch a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral.. From their beach you have a clear view of the launch facilities. We were really lucky as the rocket launched only about 15 minutes late.It went up and then turned toward us and and then made one more turn and was gone. A night launch is pretty spectacular.Wish I had taken a  recording of it. My pictures just don't do it justice. We headed home afterwards Tomorrow will be a new day.
