March 31, 2016 It was a Pretty Day

The rain was over when we got up this morning. The sun finally came out and the sky turned blue. We just chilled all day. I went to the grocery store and restocked a few items. Bonnie and Linda came over and visited all evening. I cooked hamburgers and sausage for supper. It was a really nice evening.

March 30, 2016 A Rainy Stormy Day

It was a dreary day when I got up this morning. The rain had not started yet but it was threatening. It was warmer this morning and the wind was light so I was able to cook breakfast outdoors. After breakfast we got dressed and headed to the winery's. We went to Wiederkehr Winery first. Its on top of a little mountain.,  We did a little tasting and bought some wine. It started raining just as we left. Next we headed to the Mount Bethel Winery. This is a small but very old winery. They have mostly sweet wines and fruit wines.  They also have a lot of old buildings on the ground. It was really raining hard  when we left so we headed back to the trailer for lunch. We watched the weather and some of us took naps., We then headed to Bonnie"s and spent the evening. When we left there we stopped by Sonic on the way home and got some ice cream. It continued to rain till bedtime.

March 29,2016 Headed to Ozark, Arkansas

We got on the road about 9 am this morning. Not in any hurry as we only had about a three and a half hour drive. It was a nice easy drive. We got to Ozark and got the trailer set up. The day was pretty but the wind was really blowing. I was able to take a little nap outside. Bonnie and Linda came and visited us most of the day. Later because the wind was blowing so much we just went out to eat, We then just chilled in the trailer the rest of the evening,

March 28,2016 Looking at the Past in Monticello

It was a pretty chilly morning when we got up, The temperature was about 45. We  didn't get in a hurry. We headed in to Monticello and worked at Moms memories to find places where she lived as a child and the landmarks which were still there. My only memories were of my Great Aunt Effie"s in town and then my Great Uncle Mood"s house in the country. Lots of things had changed and we did a lot of driving around. The schools Mom had gone to were completely gone, We did find one of the houses she lived in as a child. We finally found Aunt Effie"s house . It was lunch time by then and we ate at Rays BBq. After lunch we headed out and found Uncle Moods house. Then we headed to a cemetery looking for my great grand father and great grand mothers grave. The first one we went to we were looking around and couldn't find them. A lady pulled up to visit some of her relatives. She said she didn't think there were any Knoblochs buried there, but it just so happened her cousin was married to a Buddy Knobloch which is Moms cousin.  Small world.  At the next cemetery we found our relatives. We headed back to  camp after a pretty successful day. The weather was great and we spent the evening outside.
Great morning at Cane Lake

This was my Great Aunt Effie"s house.

This was my Great Uncle Mood"s house. It was 8 miles down a red dirt road when I was a kid. Nice blacktop road now.

March 27, 2016 Headed to Monticello, Ar

I never set an alarm cause I always wake up early. Today I overslept, didn't wake up till 5:15. Reallly didn't matter as the trailer was loaded and ready to go. We picked Mom up at 6:15. We hit the road and headed to Arkansas. Our first stop was in Garrision where we ate a quick breakfast at Whataburger. The front of our trailer was covered in dead bugs. Looked like it had never been washed in its life. Our second stop was in Minden La to fill up with diesel, We made Monticello about two oclock.  We found one rv park there but it was small and full. We went north about 20 miles to Cane Creek State Park. They only had 3 spots open.  The first spot they gave me had someone still in it, Ranger came and reassigned us to another spot.  Its a small park on a lake and is very pretty. We got set up and just spent the evening in camp. Tomorrow we will go to Monticello and see if Mom can remember where she lived as a child.

March 5, 2016 Day 3 in Canton

This is our last full day in Canton .It turned into another pretty day. The grounds were packed and the car lines coming in looked like a line of ants. Susan had pulled a muscle last night and wasn't walking real good. She just went to a couple of quilt shops and called it a day. Jimmy and I made one last round up on the hill and we shut down also. Janice  and Martin  came around noon and visited us. Some of the others stayed out most of the day. Lil John cooked jambalaya and JC cooked a stew for supper. We had another great evening sitting by the fire.

March 3, 2016 Day 1 at Canton

It was a beautiful day at Canton. It was about 60 when I got up at 5.  Maggie and I took a walk while my coffee was brewing. At first looking at the parking lot I thought it had rained, then I realized that it was dry where I was standing. I walked in front and I could see water pouring out of Jimmy's trailer. The leak was coming from inside so I just blocked the water. When Jimmy got up he said a seal on his water pump had blown. Luckily it just flooded the front compartment. Easy fix. Susan,Patricia, and Vicky went to Walmart and then a quilt shop. We just sat and chilled outside. When the girls got back we headed different directions to shop till we dropped. Susan and I went up the hill to look at all the junk first. When I wore out I headed back to the trailer for my nap. Susan stayed out till about 2. We built a nice fire for the evening and had a good supper. John ,Jennifer and the twins made it here about 8:45. We got them set up  Michelle and her husband got here about 9 and set up beside Dean/Pat. I went to bed after that, way past my bed time.

March 2,2016 Headed to Canton Trade Days

Yesterday I got the trailer loaded and hooked up. This morning all we had to do was load a few last minute things. We were on the road by 7:00 am. It looks as if we might have terrific weather for the week. We had planned to stop in Groveton at a little cafe to eat breakfast. When we got there there was no place where we could park our truck and trailer. There used to be an abandoned building and empty lot we could park at but someone is remodeling the building and we couldn't get in the lot. We had to settle for MacDonald's in Palestine for breakfast. We arrived in Canton about 11:30.  Dean and Patricia got there about 30 minutes later. Jimmy and Vicky made it about 1:00 pm. The ladies went to a Quilt shop in Mineoloa and the guys just had an early happy hour. It was a pretty day. We all went and ate Mexican food for supper. Everyone went to their trailers when we got back. It was an early night . All in all a pretty relaxing day.
Loaded and ready to roll

We are set up in Canton
