Oct 10-13 Long Weekend at Riverside

  • We spent the night at Kristi's Thursday night. She had  a boutique/oils party that Susan wanted to go to. The next morning we headed up to the lake. Mike,Sammi, and Ashley were coming up after school bringing the new boat. Kristi and Kenna were coming Saturday after the soccer game. It rained on us most of the day Friday. I took a nap and Susan went to the Quilt store in Trinity. Saturday morning Mike Z and i put the boat in the water. We all took a boat ride but it was pretty chilly. It started raining so we headed back. We just chilled and watched football the rest of the day. Sunday was a repeat. We took a couple of boat rides and watched football all day. Just a restful day. We got up Monday morning with a cold front blowing in. It dropped the temp from 75 to 61 degrees. We headed home in the rain after a relaxing weekend.

October 1-5 A nice weekend at the deerlease

It has been really humid the last few days. Kevin and I have been building a new horse shed and it only takes about ten minutes to be soaked in sweat. We are just about finished. We headed to the deer lease Thursday evening. A front blew in that night cooling things down. Lots of rain and wind..We were awakened about 5:00 am when Mike/Lavonna's trailer awning came crashing down . Too much water on it. It turned out to be a pretty day. I did some discing so we could plant rye grass. Later I wired a rv plug for Adam , he got a pop-up for the lease. That evening most of us ran into Livingston and ate Mexican food.
It was really nice when we got up Saturday morning. about 55. I built a little fire to sit by.I did a little more tractor work. While clearing some brush around Mike Templeton's stand I pushed over a stump full of yellowjackets. I had to abandon the tractor and run. Luck to have been stung only twice. After they settled down I retrieved the tractor. On Sunday we finished planting the rye grass.I loaded up and headed home for a few days.
