We left Meeker about 9:00 am. Everything was great till we got to Steamboat Springs. Construction held us up for about 20 minutes. After that the approach to Rabbit Ears Pass from the west ate my lunch. 3rd gear 40 mph was my speed watching my engine temp. After that it was pretty smooth sailing. The road to Kremmling was a narrow two lane and very twisting. The uneven pavement would make our trailer go up and down at times so I kept my speed down. When we got into Kremmeling one driver behind me blew by me as he was tired of following me. The next car that blew by me was a city cop and he pulled the race car driver over. I feel his pain because I am now the guy I use to hate on the road. When we got to Grand Lake GPS took us to the wrong place but I was able to turn around and we finally got there. Campground road was tight and our spot was long enough but not wide enough. Our slideout is even with the road. When we opened the trailer it was a mess. My chair moved and our cabinet fell over. Everything stored on the floor. Then I couldn"t find my power adapter for my little generator so I just used the Predator 3500, its actually quieter but my small Westinghouse 2200 is more fuel efficient. It was a hot day here as the heat wave continues. It made about 82 here. We just have no shade till late evening. We drove around and checked the countryside out. You could sure see the effects from the fires last year. Susan found two quilt shops to go to sometime. When we got back I panfried some porkchops and Susan heated up some green peas. They are in a stage 2 fire restriction here so there are no open fires and no charcoal grills. Tomorrow we plan to go into Rocky Mountain National Park.

July 23-26 Meeker, Colorado
I sure slept good and it was 6:00 am before I got up. Susan continued to get up early for her about 6:30 am. We had nice temps at about 60 degrees. We just piddled around most of the morning. I finally caught up on downloading pictures, sure nice to have cell service again. We just had an omelot for breakfast using the microwave, fast and easy. We got out and looked around Meeker, made it to several stores. Meeker is a nice little town. We found the house Adam /Kim are going to buy. They hope to close on Wednesday. They have to be out of their rent house tomorrow. They were loading boxes all evening. We sat outside just enjoying the weather. We got some new overnight neighbors in, Dave and Janet Camp from California. We visited most of the evening and really enjoyed it. Saturday morning we went and helped Adam/Kim move. The movers were late and didn"t get there till about 11:00. Adam and I moved several things to a local storage building. The other stuff was going to a bigger storage facility in Craig. It was a long day. Kim had rented two tiny houses at an rv park to live in till they get in their house. They took their two big dogs with them and we took the smaller two dogs with us for one night. Sunday morning Adam/Kim had to go to Steamboat Springs to pick up her girls (Taylor 14 and Morgan 17). We just stayed in the trailer and recovered from the day before. That evening we took the dogs back to Adams. We spent the evening over there and Adam cooked steaks . We had a great evening. Monday morning was laundry day, after we finished that we went to the Meeker Cafe for breakfast and it was good, a nice little quaint place. Then we went to the store and restocked a few things. Adam came by the trailer and visited. After he left we took our nap. That evening we met everyone at an Italian place for supper. We had a nice time. We said our goodbyes because we leave in the morning for Grand Lake.

July 18-22 Tetons and Headed to Meeker Colorado
Every day was pretty much the same, we would wake up to temps in the 40"s and then warm up to 85-90 as the heat wave continued. About 6pm the temps would be back in the 70"s. Some days we would do nothing and other days we drove thru the Tetons. Susans ankle was better but still not up to doing much walking. We saw some wildlife but not as much as previous visits. To be fair we didn"t make any late evening nor early morning drives. I had to go into Jackson twice to get the same tire repaired. The traffic was terrible. We left on the 23 and headed to Meeker Colorado. The first part of the drive south of Jackson was beautiful, then we hit the stretch to Rock Springs > Lots of nothing. We stopped in a little town of Farson and had breakfast. We made good time till we hit road construction into Craig. 15 minute wait then a one lane bumpy dirt road for 5-6 miles. We finally pulled into Meeker after nine hours of driving. Our little rv park was nice. We met Adam and Kim for supper and then I went to bed and crashed. One thing it sure is nice to have cell service and internet again.

July 12-17 Grand Tetons
We left Lander on Monday morning. We had a nice easy drive to Gross Venture Campground in the Tetons. We stopped once on the side of the road and made breakfast just past Dubois. The campground is huge and you have pretty good spacing. We are in a generator loop so all is good. We have made a few drives around just looking at scenery. Susans foot is getting better every day but she tries to stay off of it as much as possible. We went into Jackson Hole one day and it is crazy. The traffic is horrendous and we try to stay away from there. Thursday we moved up a mountain to Lower Slide Lake at a small undeveloped campground. Its first come first serve but we managed to snag a site. The only sites we fit in are double sites but we have great views. The weather has been nice but it has been warm from about 1-5:30. We have no cell reception so it takes about 30 minutes to get down the mountain to where we can use our phones. The road up the mountain has some construction going on and you could have 10-15 minutes of waiting to get by. We have great views in the Atherton camp site so its worth the wait.
