September 14,15 Lake Waco

It was another nice morning on Wednesday. Today was pretty much a chill day as we didn"t go anywhere. It was nice to sit out and just visit all day with a few naps thrown in.  Thursday morning I woke up to 60 degrees. I sat around the fire really enjoying the early morning. Susan came out abut 7:30 and we ate breakfast around 9:00.  Later Belinda and Susan made a quick trip back to a quilt shop. We had our last supper here down at Jamie/Belindas site. Tomorrow we head home. The park has been filling up today everyone getting ready for the weekend.

Sept 11-13 Airport Park on Lake Waco

It has finally cooled down some from a hot dry summer. Due to very high gas prices we did not travel anywhere this summer.    We finally got some rain at the end of August and we are now out of drought conditions. It has cooled off a little so we planned this trip with Jamie/Belinda Purvis to Waco. Susan and I left Sunday morning around 9:30 am.  No hurry because checkin time at the park is 3:00.  We made our first stop at Sonic in Liberty and then eased along.  For lunch we stopped at Woody"s Smokehouse in Centerville.  Its pretty good and they have great parking for rv"s.  We then filled our truck up and continued on. We got to the park about 2:30.  The weather was actually pretty nice, about 88 and low humidity.  Jamie/Belinda got here about 3:00.  We didn"t do anything that evening but sit around and visited. The lake is really low.  For supper we had BBQ from Woody's.  We had a pretty early night as I was tired.                   Monday morning it was really nice at about 65 degrees with a slight breeze. I started my little propane fire pit and enjoyed the morning. After Susan got up I cooked a little breakfast.  We hung in camp all day and didn't go anywhere. We did go swimming and the water was nice.  That evening Belinda cooked hamburgers and fries and we sat out til dark thirty.   Wednesday was another nice morning to be outside. Around 9:30 am we left to go visit the Homestead Heritage Village. They have folks doing wood work, pottery, blacksmiths and looms. It also has a gristmill and of course a quiltshop.  They also have a cafe which we ate at, they serve breakfast and lunch.  I didn"t get many pictures because I left my phone back at the trailer.  For supper we had tacos and another nice night,
