We left on Wednesday headed to New Orleans for Sammi"s volleyball tournament. They played Saturday and Sunday at the convention center downtown. It was a good drive untill 1-10 was backed up before Lafayette. We cut thru and hit 90 and went in the back way. I won"t do that again as the roads were terrible. We stay at St. Bernard State Park which is about 20 miles from downtown. The little community is Poydras. To get there you have to drive thru the ninth ward which is interesting to say the least. St. Bernard is a nice small park and we had a very good site (we have stayed here before for volleyball). We caught incredible weather for this time of year, the lows were in the 60"s and the high was mid 80"s with low humidity. The only drawback was i was passing kidney stones probably around 10-11 for the trip. Luckily they were small and while I had some rough nights I was not incapacitated so I could go and do but was uncomfortable. The first three evenings we tried different little seafood places around the area. One was really good and the other two were just OK. Saturday and Sunday were vollleyball days. The girls had a good tournament and came in fourth in the Gold division. Most all the games were close and our last loss was in three sets and a heartbreaker. We didn"t do much else but chill at camp. I did go to the 1814 Battle of New Orleans battlefield. It was very interesting. We came home on Tuesday and was a good trip.
