The boys got early Wednesday morning. I tried not to wake them when I took Cooper out for his walk but they popped up when I opened the door. The wind was still blowing when I went outside. As soon as it was daylight the boys went to riding their bikes. I sat out by my little firepit till Susan got up. She came out and sat awhile. After breakfast i took the boys to run some errands. We went to the dam and we walked across it, then we went to the store and back to camp. They played outside and after lunch I let them go swimming for awhile. The sun had come out and it was as warm as it was going to get. When we got back I took the boys to the showers and let them clean up. They rode bikes till supper time. Peyton started felling bad and was sluggish and tired. He was running a temperature of 102.1. We gave him some medicine and bluebell ice cream. The next morning he still had a little fever of 100,2 but felt better. It was a light mist outside and was going to be like that all day untill a front came in tonite. It was supposed to turn cold and even more windy. We decide to pack up and head home. A trailer is not fun with a sick kid and nasty weather. Spring break camping is over.

March 14 2023 Headed to Canyon Lake
We finished loading this morning and got on the road about 9;00 am. We are in no hurry as check-in time is 3:00 at Potters Creek and they are strict about that. We stopped a a rest area just past Columbus to let Cooper walk around and pee. When we got to Luling we got gas and then stopped to let Susan go to a quilt shop. The rest of us wandered around the city park. When Susan finished shopping we went and had lunch. We got to Potters Creek about 15 minutes till 3. They actually let us in at 2;58. We got set up and the boys rode their bikes with some other kids. We had a little happy hour around our fire pit. It was chilly with the wind blowing. We had a light supper in the trailer. The lake is very low, lowest that I have ever seen.

March 11, 2023 Spring Break Day 1
Kyle brought Peyton and Luke here today for Spring break. He did some maintenance on the 4-wheelers while he was here. Peyton loves to help his Dad work on things but Luke would rather play on his tablet. They did play hard all day . They rode their backs and played in their dirt pile. They managed to find one snake and 3 deer on their adventures around the pasture. After supper we had ice cream and watched tv the rest of the evening. Cooper had a blast with the boys and was tuckered out.

March 1-4 2023 Canton
We left Wednesday morning headed to Canton for First Monday Trade Days. This was Coopers first road trip. He did great on the drive up. He looked out the windows some and slept the rest of the time. We got there around noon and set up. Jamie/Belinda got there about 1:30. There were a few light showers around but didn"t affect us. We just chilled out that evening and had taco soup for supper. There was lots of bad weather predicted for tomorrow. Thursday morning we headed to Quitman to a quilt shop. Someone built an impressive facility there. They had the quilt shop and a retreat center beside it. When we left there we stopped at the Silver Lakes Winery for some wine tasting. We had a good time there and then headed on home. We didn"t get the bad weather until late in the evening. The sirens went off 3 different times but we never saw a tornado warning for us. I found out later that the warning sirens were for winds above 75 mph. By 9:45 pm the front had moved thru and the severe weather was over. It continued to rain off and on the rest of the night and the wind still was blowing 25-30 mph. When we got up Friday morning it was clear skies , in the 40"s with 20 mph winds. Susan and I shopped till around noon. We ate some gumbo at a little cajun place and headed back to the trailer. It was a very light crowd . We took a nap and just chilled the rest of the evening. For supper Belinda cooked rib eyes and shrimp. We had a nice fire as the wind layed. Saturday was a repeat for us, we finished up shopping around noon. It was a gorgeous day. The grounds filled up with lots of people. We just chilled the rest of the evening. Sunday morning we loaded up and headed home. It was a very nice little trip.
