Jan 13, 2015 Travel Day---Made Biloxi

We finally hit  the road about 6:00 am this morning. The roads were dry and no rain.We were in no hurry and just moseyed along. The traffic was light going thru Beaumont. It was very windy and at times I could feel the wind pushing against me. We stopped to get a little breakfast  in Iowa,La. I also topped my fuel tank as there was diesel for 2.49 a gallon.  Back on the road with no problems. When we got to Hammond,La we stopped for potty break and I topped my tanks again. When we got close to,Biloxi, I decided that was far enough for one day. The campground I wanted to stay at was full (Davis Campground Bayou) so we just stopped at Oaklawn RV Park. We decided to just stay one night then  head to a COE park on the Florida/Georgia line by Lake Seminole. It was nice to shut down early and chill. We went to eat at Shaggys which is on the beach. It was very good.

Jan 10,2015 Longview--Taylor First Cousins

I got up this morning and headed to Livingston. I was supposed to be there at 8:00.  I left early but John and Judy beat me to Ricky's house. We loaded up and headed to Longview. Road conditions were good and we made it in about 2 hrs and 20 minutes. Didn't take my Garmin as Susan usually operates it so I used my phone for navigation. It got us there but I missed looking at a big screen.Kimberley had what she called a red barn where we were meeting. Actually not a barn but had living quarters on the 2nd floor and the first floor she used for meetings or events.It was a nice place to meet. In attendance were John and Judy, Ricky, Jimmy, Ken ,Kimberley and myself. We are all first cousins. My uncle Farol was there and  Aunt Barbara and her husband Joe. Kimberley's husband Jamie also was there. We had a good time visiting as we hadn't been at one place all together in years.Jamie brought us fried chicken and sides for lunch and we pigged out.The day went fast and soon we had to head home. It rained and drizzled all the way. Such a nasty drive, I dropped everyone off and Ricky's and made it home about 7:45pm. Two days in a row I missed my  nap.That trend needs to stop.I have two days to finish packing as we hope to leave for Florida on Tuesday.

Jan 3-9,2015 Home, Babysitting and LUKE

We came home on Saturday, the weather was nicer and sunny. Now we have about 10 days to get ready for Florida. Susan and I split babysitting duties for Kristi (who went to Africa) from Monday to Friday. I went Wednesday evening and came home Friday morning . #5 grandson Luke was born Wednesday morning. He was 8lbs and 20 inches. I picked Susan and Mom up Friday morning and we headed to Bryan .Luke slept most of the time we were there. He is doing well and eating good. We then went to see Peyton at home, he only can stay a little while at the hospital as he is really interested in all the gadgets and likes to explore.Played with him awhile and headed home. It was a long day.

Jan 2, 2015 Lets go shopping

It was another dreary wet  miserable day. We met Mike and Lavonna at Cabela"s. We go there every year for after Christmas sales. We  found lots of good things and filled our  baskets.When we left there we went and  had a late lunch.Not wore out yet we headed to Big Lots and then Academy. Finally we both left for our Trailer/hotel to get some rest. Supper time came and we both decided to just stay in chill. I took Maggie for a quick damp walk. Then I got in my pj"s and read for awhile. We leave for home tomorrow. The weather is supposed to clear and be nice.

Jan 1 2015 New Years Day In Mckinney Falls

No pictures today. It was a cold drizzling day. We went to Academy this morning and then to HEB. Mike  and Lavonna made it here from Junction. We met them at Camping World. As usual we left there with a lot more stuff than we went in for. After that we went to another Academy and got more stuff. It was early evening and we were starving from shopping. We headed to one of our favorite places in Buda to eat but it was closed. We then headed to south Austin and ate Mexican food. After that we headed home to watch football games

Dec 26-31 Junction and then Mckinney Falls

We left for Junction about 6:00 am. Stopped in Schulenberg and had breakfast  at Franks. When we got on the road Kerry and Regan passed us. Mike and Lavonna were about an hour behind us. We  made the ranch about 1:00 pm and set up beside the creek. Later Regan,Mike Templeton  and I rode the ranch and checked deer stands.We just chilled the rest of the evening.We had a really good week. We hunted and saw .deer on every hunt. I  saw one really good 8 pt that I almost shot to have it mounted but in the end I let him walk. I was only going to shoot cull bucks and does. We ate and drank well all week. Relaxing in front of the fireplace every night.Kerry and Susan went to Kerrville one day shopping but Lavonna just stayed in front of the fireplace. The weather forecast looked bleak for new years day when we were supposed to head to Austin.We decided to leave on Wednesday hoping to miss the really bad weather.It was 25 and icy when we left the ranch. Once we got on I-!0 heading toward Junction it started sleeting. It was slow going. On the hill heading up east  out of Junction we . saw two wrecks, one a travel trailer turned upside down. On the west side heading down the hill there was a really bad wreck. The traffic was backed up all the way to Segovia.. We had one spot on 290 where we did a little sliding across a bridge but made it ok. Happily by the time we got to Fredricksburg it had dryed up and got above 32.  It was really  nice when we made Mckinney Falls State Prk, dry and 41 degrees. For New Years eve we went to eat Mexican food and back to the trailer. What a party night.

Dec 23-25 Christmas

On Tuesday I started packing the trailer I went and got  my propane bottles filled. Wednesday I had a early eye Dr appointment. They said my eye was healing fine and would continue to get better every day. Headed home and finished getting the trailer ready. We had a quiet Christmas eve. On Christmas day we went to Kristi's to watch the girls  open their gifts. Later we went home and Kevin,Jen and the boys came over.When they left and we just chilled .We head to Junction tomorrow.
