Susan retired from education in May 2011 and I retired in December 2011 . We are not full timers but do travel a lot. We enjoy traveling around the country. There are many beautiful places in the USA and we are going to try and see all of them while we can.
During the night we had to get up about 1:30
to put down the awning and gather a few things up because a storm came up out
of nowhere. It put on an impressive
lightning show. The wind didn’t really get to bad but we did get rain. After
breakfast we drove to River Run in
Scotsville to start our kayak trip. Susan and I had our inflatable Sea Eagle so
Greg and Pam rented kayaks. They bussed us to our starting location and off we
went. The river was the Pere Marquette .
The current was quick but there was no whitewater. It was a fun relaxing float.
It took us about 2 ½ hrs to do 6 miles. We
headed back to camp and everyone took a little nap. Such a tough life. Later Greg
went for a run and Pam followed him on a bike. After that we decided to just
hang in camp for the evening. Grilled some hamburgers for supper .
