July 12 2016 Cheyenne and a Smokey Evening

We made 39 degrees this morning.  It didn't feel as cold as the wind wasn't blowing like yesterday. The sun warmed us up fairly quick but it was still a cool day as the high only made 75. We decided to go into Cheyenne and look around. Susan found a quilt shop and I went to several stores and a museum. Cheyenne is a nice clean town and it was pleasant to walk around. We ate lunch at the highest rated Mexican food place in town. It was average at best. We headed back home after that. We both took naps. After waking up we noticed a lot of smoke in the air. I figured that it was from the Beaver Creek fire in Colorado, but decided to drive out to the interstate which is about 10 miles just to make sure. Fire is a real danger up here with winds and 10% humidity so we needed to make sure. We were correct that the smoke was from Colorado. I hope that the roads don't get closed to Walden on the east side of the mountains as that's how we will be traveling Sunday to Steamboat Springs. We rode a couple of back roads on the way back. We found a small lake in a high meadow but the road is too bad to pull a big trailer thru. We got back home and chilled.
