6/4-6/5 Melbourne Beach

 Tuesday morning was another nice morning. About noon Vicki/Alex picked up us and we went to lunch at a kinda Cuban themed restaurant. It was very good. I got a special they were offering which was a fried green tomato blt wrap. Really liked it. I would go back for sure. After that we went to a quilt shop for Susan. We got back home around 5. I was pretty tired. There was going to be a starlink launch at 10:30 pm at the space center but I couldn"t stay up.  Wednesday morning we stayed close to the trailer. I put some shoe racks for Susan around the base of the bed and then had to fix one of the curtain valance on a big window. We went to the beach around 10:30 am so we could watch the manned Boeing Starliner launch. Even though we are about 35 miles away we got a good view. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves. After that we just went home and chilled the rest of the evening.

6/1 -6/3 Melbourne Beach

 Saturday was a travel day. It was about a 7 1/2 hr drive with three stops. We got to our campground around 2:45 pm.  It was a county Park on the Indian River. Very unlevel sites with a shared Utility post. We had to angle our trailer in but it gave us great views. I was pretty tired that evening, but the weather was gorgeous. Sunday around 10 Susans cousin Vicky/Alex picked us up We went to their sons house to visit and then we all went to lunch. We ate at a nice restaurant on the water. Again the weather was gorgeous and we had a great time. When they dropped us back home it was nap time for sure. That evening we just chilled around camp.  Our neighbors from a couple of sites came down and we visited for awhile. They only live about 25 minutes away but camp here on the weekends a lot.  Monday we went to Vicki/Alex house and visited. She made us a great lunch. Homemade enchiladas and rice, They said you can't get good mexican food here at all. We had another enjoyable day. 

5/28-5/31 We moved to East Bank Campground-Northern Florida

 We pulled out Tuesday morning heading to our next destination.  It was about a 5 hr drive with a couple of stops.  East Bank campground is about 2 miles north of Chattahoochee on Lake Seminole. East Bank is really about a quarter mile across the Georgia line. It also sits on the time zone line and our phones kept changing back and forth from Easter to Central time.  We had a nice waterfront site. All we did was just chill for a couple if days. We found a little seafood place to eat at and it and was really good. We had a gator that would cruise by our campsite every morning looking around.  There were geese that would wander by and drive Cooper crazy. This campground had a little laundry room which was free to use, It had good MayTag machines so we got our laundry done. Just a relaxing couple of days.

5/25--5/27 Ashley Graduation and Biloxi Mississippi

Our second grandaughter Ashley Grace graduated from Kingwood High on Saturday morning at 9:am.  it was held at NRG stadium. She was #6 of 646 students. we are very proud of her. She will be going to Texas A&M in the fall. She was accepted into the Honors Business School. There was a nice graduation party at her house after graduation.                                                                                                                                  The next morning we headed to Biloxi Mississippi. We are going to spend a month in Florida. Davis Bayou Campground was our first stop. It took about 7 hours. The traffic was pretty good except for one slowdown past Slidell. I was tired when we arrived and got set up. I had an early evening and went to bed. Monday morning I got up at 5:30.  Cooper and I took a walk around the campground. He bayed a turtle on our walk, just couldn"t figure out what it was. Evidently our site is a turtle crossing as we saw 3 more.  Susan slept till about 8:45. About noon we left and ran some errands, then we drove along the beaches sightseeing. About 2 we stopped at Shaggy"s and had an early dinner. Its right on the beach and there was a nice breeze, very comfortable to eat there. The food and service was excellent. We the took our leftovers and headed home. Just chilled the rest of the evening.

April 11-16 Dallas Volleyball Trip

 We left on Thursday headed to Dallas for Sammi's Volleyball tournament. Its another 3 day tournament. We typically stay at Hickory Creek Coe when we go to Dallas but they were closed for repairs till May1. I did a lot of looking and found a city park on Lake Lewisville which gave senior citizens a site for $10.00 a night with water/electric. Pretty good deal and it got decent reviews. Anyway we left that morning , my plan was to come in from the east side (we are actually north of Dallas) to keep from driving thru the middle of Dallas.  I changed my mind when  we were close and decided to hit 635 loop, it looked good at the time on my gps. By the time we got there the gps was screaming red and it was true. Terrible traffic to be pulling a trailer not knowing what lanes to be in . We made it and I swore that was the last time i was diving a trailer thru all tharf traffic.  The little city park was pretty nice. We had good lake views. The sites were a little close for me .  Friday we didn't do anything and I was able to relax all day. We had planned to visit Susans brother who lives close by in Frisco. They had come done with covid so no visits this trip. Saturday we headed to the convention center, we had the evening wave which I hate.  We got there plenty early but It took over an hour to find a parking spot.  Last weekend our team was in Salt Lake city for a three day tournament. They played well , made the gold bracket and ended 4th overall.  This weekend they were undefeated on Saturday and Sunday playing very well, went 7-0 and never lost a set. On Monday we lost our first game in the gold. The team that beat us won the tournament. We rested Monday and came home Tuesday. I took the long way home and had an easy drive.  Our next trip isn't till June as we are headed to Florida.

March 19-25 New Orleans

 On Tuesday the day before we were leaving for New Orleans Susan was in a wreck in Liberty. Luckily she was not hurt.  Shad stopped behind a truck street sweeper in Liberty. He picked up his sweeper and she thought he was going to turn on the next street. Instead he started backing up.  She blew her horn and then tried to get her car in reverse but couldn't do it in time. He crushed the hood and fenders and broke the windshield. He stopped just in time to keep from injuring Susan.   The car was not damaged mechanically and still was driviable.  The city filled with their insurance and we will take it to get an estimate. The car is in excellent condition but it is a 2008 with 215,000 miles on it. I expect they will total it. We don't want that because no way can we replace it for what we will get . Anyway we left the next morning for New Orleans. Sammi's volleyball team is playing in a 3 day tournament there.  We are staying in a different park this year. Its in the southwest side of New Orleans, Bayou Segnette State Park.  I give it a 7 out of 10 for a park. The asphalt sites are a little narrow for me and the ground slopes quickly but the sites are spacious. There is not a lot of shady sites. I give it a 10n for location. Depending on traffic I can get to downtown in 20 minutes. There are a lot of seafood markets and restaurants nearby. The area of town is a lot nicer than where we used to stay at the other state park on the east side.  The tournament was a disaster. We played terrible the first day (every game went 3 sets) but managed to stay in the winners bracket. The second day was terrible . One team in our pool went unbeaten and the rest of us tied. We lost the tiebreaker and so went to the losers bracket on Sunday. We lost our game on Sunday, to be fair she players who normally dont get much playing time and it showed. Sammi actually had a great tournament serving and her defense was really good also. Because we finished so early Sunday, I loaded everything up so we could come home Monday. It was a very windy day coming home , we caught 25-30 mph winds all day but we made it home by 2;30.
