Susan retired from education in May 2011 and I retired in December 2011 . We are not full timers but do travel a lot. We enjoy traveling around the country. There are many beautiful places in the USA and we are going to try and see all of them while we can.
We got an early start today. We drove thru the Snowy Mountain Range looking for a place to move on Tuesday. First stop was a dispersed campground on the North Platte river near Saratoga. It was a great place but there was no way we could get the trailer in and out. Our next stop was Lake Saratoga, we were not impressed with that campground. Heading up the mountains we found two campgrounds we would stay at. Both are first come first serve. We then went on up the mountain to two campgrounds we like. One is reserved till August and the other has some first come first serve sites. It is pretty up there but cold. It was 48 degrees for a high today. We think it might be too cold to stay up there. We left there and stopped in Centennial and had a late lunch. Its still pretty in the Snowy Mountain Range but not like it used to be, The pine beetles have killed lots of trees so you have lots of brown mixed in the greenery. We stopped at one more high altitude lake and campground before heading home. It is a place where we would consider staying. Finally we headed home after a long day. Luckily I had a crock pot full of roast and potato's ready for supper.
