Susan retired from education in May 2011 and I retired in December 2011 . We are not full timers but do travel a lot. We enjoy traveling around the country. There are many beautiful places in the USA and we are going to try and see all of them while we can.
Our battery
powered fan and sound machine both ran out of juice last night. I got up about
6 and put batteries in the sound machine. Susan was able to sleep a little
longer. We are moving today to Mueller State Park. It’s only about 45 minutes
so we weren’t in any hurry. We still left a little earlier than we planned. I
filled the water tank and then we dumped the waste tanks and hit the road. We
stopped in Lake George at the only cafe and ate breakfast. We got to Mueller around
11:30 and luckily our site was open. This is a beautiful park and we got into
one of our favorite spots. We have a
great view of Pikes Peak. The weather was nice when we got here but then we got
a little rain and the temps dropped. We are at about 9700 ft. here. Cell phone
reception is spotty but texts always come thru. They have Wi-Fi at the
bath/laundry house and we actually get pretty good service there. We built a
nice little fire for our evening happy hour. It only lasted about 40 minutes as
we got another little shower. It’s nice to have electricity as we have been
without the last 8 days. Of course we have used our generator. We will be here
until Wednesday.
