March 20,2021 George R. Brown---Cross Court Volleyball Tournament

We have not been able to attend many volleyball games this year due to covid.  We were able to go to the tournament this weekend because all 3 girls were playing. You could have two spectators per player. All tickets had to be done online with a code you got from the teams coach. You had to show your ticket and photo id to get inside.  There were two waves , one in the morning and one in the evening.  We got lucky that all three girls were in the same wave which was the evening wave.  Our first game started at 2:30 and the last game was at 7:30.  All the girls played 3 games so we were hopping back and forth. Mackenna played on one end of the center and Ashley and Sammi played on the other end. We got our exercise in for sure. We lucked out on parking, able to snag a spot on the corner of the convention center.  Sammi"s team is very young and they struggled all day.  Mackenna"s team played okay and Ashleys team was excellent. Both Kenna and Ashley played very well. We opted out of Sundays games as it just too much walking and the chairs are not really comfortable for us old folks.  It was a good day and we enjoyed it.

March 2021 Spring Break

Spring break is here, The weather has been nice. Still a little wet but got most of my yard mowed.  Mike/Kristi and the girls flew to Vail for their spring break. I met Kyle on Saturday and picked up Peyton and Luke.  When we got home they headed outside to play in the little dirt pile I made them, They pretty much played out all day. They were tired that night and went to bed pretty easy. They got up at 5:00 am Sunday morning. A little earlier than I had hoped. It drizzled some early so no outside play. I carried them to a 11:00 am movie in Mont Belveiu. There were only two other folks in the place, Susan didn"t go because she has been down in her back. When we got home about 2:00 the boys played in and out till supper time. They went to bed pretty early as they tuckered out. Monday morning they slept till 7:00 am so I did get some quiet time.  it was really foggy early on in the day.  I carried the boys to town to see Mom and then we went to the city park to play. After that we headed back home. The boys played outside till supper. I washed Susans car and my truck. The boys went to sleep around 9:00 pm.  Kristi texted us and she hurt her knee sking.  Went to ortho dr in Vail,  x rays show nothing broken but ligament tears suspected. She has to get an MRI when she gets home. On cruthches and can put no weight on it. Also Kevin called yesterday, he starts a new project in Mountain, Wisconsin April 5.  He will probably be there for 12-15 months. While we have not been there we have been in that part of Wisconsin. Its pretty in the summertime and cold in wintertime, about an hour and a half northwest of Green Bay.  Tuesday morning we loaded the trailer and headed for Dam B.  It was cloudy and over cast with some misting rain. We left Nana home because of her back. We got the trailer set up and ate lunch. The boys played at the playground and then that evening I set up a sprinkler at camp and they played in the water till dark. We had hamburgers for supper,. Wednesday morning the boys got up at 5:30 am.  When it got daylight they went to the playground and played there for an hour or so. It was very cloudy and you could tell rain was heading our way. They played around the trailer with their little shovels and trucks. When the rain got here we went to the store to pick up a few things and just to be doing something other than sitting in trailer, It was still raining when we got back so we just watched cartoons.  After the rain came thru it cleared up and the sun came out. We just stayed in camp the rest of the evening. The cold front started blowing in with some pretty good winds. We had a little fire in my propane fire pit and the boys roasted marshmellows.  They were pretty tuckered out and went to bed about 8:30. It was 46 Thursday morning when we got up. There was a lot of wind and it was relentless. The boys played at the playground and around camp. A lot of people pulled out today. We came in pretty early about 6 because of the winds, The boys just watched tv and I read. We leave in the morning to go home.  It was 44 degrees Friday morning. The wind has died down a little.
