March 29-April 4 2023 Hickory Creek Campground & The Lone Star Classic Volleyball

We left om Wednesday headed to Hickory Creek Campground just north of Dallas.  Sammi is playing in a 3 day tournament at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center and we are also going to visit Susans Brother who lives in Frisco.  We had a pretty easy drive untill we reached Dallas.  The traffic was bad and I always get confused on all the turns but we made it.  After we got the trailer set up we headed to Richards to visit and eat supper.  We took Cooper so they could see him and let him play with their dog Gracie.  Gracie is a labadoodle and she didnt want anything to do with Cooper. She found her a high spot to get on and didnt come down.  When we got back home I crashed as I was tired.  Thursday morning Cooper let me sleep till 6 before he woke me up. I took him for a walk so he could pee and poop. There was a lot of wind and it was cool. We just chilled in the trailer most of the day as the wind blew and misted rain on and off. Cooper and I managed several walks between the rain. That evening we went back to Richards and then out to eat seafood.  That night we really got some wind and it rocked the trailer all night. Friday was a nicer day and we enjoyed being on the lake with good views.  We have stayed in this park before and we do like it. On saturday Sammi played in the evening wave. We went to Richards and they drove us downtown. We only got too see two games as we had to leave so we could get back to the park before 10 pm.  They lock the gates then and you cannot re-enter.  It was good to ride with someone so I could see how to get around in the daylight.  The parking was not too bad but a lot of walking.  Sunday morning our first game was at 9, then 10 and then 12.  Of course everything backed up and we did not get out till 2;30.  They played again at 7:30 but we didnt stay. We were just wore out.  Monday we didnt go because Susans foot and back was bothering her.  We just stayed at camp. It was a beautiful day. Richard and Cheryl came out and visited .  They brought Gracie and she had a blast in the lake. That evening we had a gorgeous sunset. Tuesday was just a laid back day. Cooper and I took several walks and I loaded the truck preparing to leave tomorrow. That evening we went back to Richards and had supper at a nice Tex Mex restaurant.  Wednesday morning we got up and loaded up. We waited till 9:00 to leave as we wanted the rush hour traffic to be done when we hit Dallas.  It would have worked except there was a wreck on the Freeway right after we got on it. It was about 30 minutes to get thru that. After that it was pretty easy driving back home. All in all we had a very good trip.  This was Coopers second camping trip and he had a good time. He is doing great as a traveler. He sleeps but also loves to look out the back sear truck windows. Also in the trailer he loves to look out and watch anything happening.
