July 6 -- Dequeen Lake

I was so tired and went to bed early last night. I slept late for me and didn't get up till a little after six. It was really nice outside about 62 degrees and a slight breeze. After getting my coffee, Maggie and I took a nice walk around the park. I still don't like walking up hills but there is not a lot of flat land here. Susan slept till a little after 8. It was a lazy morning as we just sat in our chairs looking out over the lake.Susan went in and took a nap around  noon. I was able to do just fine in my chair in the shade. Later we took a drive up to Queen Wilhelmina State Park. It is a beautiful drive up the mountain with many pull outs for viewing. At the top is the state park. It is nice but not really our type of camping. The sites are just to close to each other and most wouldn't fit our truck and trailer. When we got back we just chilled in camp, grilled hamburgers and read till bedtime.

  1. I traveled the area you are in, we found the corp parks have whole lot more to offer than state parks.Make sure you keep some spare refreshments, whole lot of places are dry.
