About Me

My photo
Susan retired from education in May 2011 and I retired in December 2011 . We are not full timers but do travel a lot. We enjoy traveling around the country. There are many beautiful places in the USA and we are going to try and see all of them while we can.

Sept 3-4 2023 Old Age Is Hell

Ive had kidney stones on this trip, starting feeling normal on Sunday. Susan's hip started hurting Sunday after we went swimming. It got worse as night came on. We think its bursitis. She has to lay flat on her back to get comfortable. She felt a little better Monday but by that night it was bad again. Looks like we will go to a health clinic Tuesday.  As I mentioned we floated in the lake for awhile Sunday. The water was cold but it felt pretty good. With all the pontoons, boats, and jet skis it felt like we were on the gulf with the wave action.  It has warmed up reaching 88 degrees.  Still much better than back at home. On Tuesday we moved to a different site, it was the one I wanted originally but couldnt get the first 3 nights. The site we had was waterfront but it was unlevel. I had to block up one side of the trailer about 6 inches. Also other than where the covered picnic table was everything sloped toward the lake. This probably didnt help Susans hip any.  As soon as the folks that were in the site left I moved in. I had us set up bt 2:00.  Susan was hurting so she just rode in the bed while I moved. She is not a fan of staying in bed while the trailer is moving now.  Now we have full shade and level ground.  One side of the trailer has great water views. If nothing else changes we will be here 8 more days before moving on.

Cooper loves looking out the windows

Cooper is watching them just wishing he could get outside
