Dec 1-9 Cold Weather and SNOW

Not much to report at Mack Creek. It has been just John Callahan and me most of the time. The weather was much cooler but the deer were still moving mostly at night. We got news that Mackenna was picked to go on an educational trip to Washington DC. She is excited about that. Also her basketball season has started and its been fun watching. Okay, the Big News is that in snowed in East Texas. Some places got as much as 5 inches. Kyle sent pictures of Peyton and Luke playing in the snow in Bryan. It was pretty at the deer lease. It didn't stick on the ground where there was dirt but the grassy pipelines were covered. On the coldest night of the year we were at a basketball game. Sammi was supposed to come home with us but she got sick and didn't. I teased her that she needed plenty of clothes as it was cold at our house. Well, when we got home our furnace wasn't working and it was cold.  Of course this happened on Friday night so it will be Monday before someone can look at it. We just used a electric heater in our room that night. When I got up Saturday morning it was 29 outside and chilly in the rest of the house. I built our first fire in the fireplace this year, once the firebox got hot I turned the blowers on and warmed up the living room and kitchen nicely. I put another electric heater in Susan's sewing room so all was good in the world. I guess I wont be going back to the lease until the furnace is fixed.
