June 13,2025 An Easy Day of Driving

We left this morning about 8:am. It was about 12 miles to Childress where we filled up with gas and then got some kolaches for the road. Our next stop was in Amarillo to just walk around and use the restrooms . I topped off the tank and we got back on the road. Easy driving and very little traffic.  Our next stop was Boise City, Oklahoma. We ate lunch at a Subway, filled up with gas again and off we went.  I was feeling pretty good and could have probably driven all day .  Susan was not doing as well as me so we stopped in Springfield Colorado about 2:00 pm central time. Since we were in Colorado we changed time zones so it was 1:00. We found a little RV park that had 2 pull thrus and I got one of them. That meant I didn't"t have to unhook Trailer.  About 30 minutes later a motorhome pulled in the other one. 4 more trailers came in at different times.  Early bird gets the best spot.  No shade whatsoever here. Trailer was hot and struggled to cool off. Because of the wind I couldn't use my awning to block the sun any. By 6:00 pm it started cooling off out side and was really nice. About 82 with 23% humidity.  I set up my air fryer in the shade and cooked outside.  Easy meals on the road, we had shrimp and rice.  Both Susan and Cooper took naps today but I didn't so it will be an early night. After watching the weather we made a good choice in stopping here. Lots of rough weather north of us.
