I got up about 6 this morning. Actually could have slept later but Maggie was ready to go for her morning walk. We eased out of the trailer quietly, turned the coffeepot on and were on our way. It was a nice morning about 59 and no wind.On our way back, we met Greg who was going to make his morning run. I walk but don't do any running. We sat and watched the geese go by and all the different birds flying, a relaxing early morning.  When everyone got up and dressed we headed out for our travels. First we drove to Drumonds Island. You have to take a ferry over ($12.00 for the truck & $1.00 per person) which looks like a good business to be in up here.  We drove the only main road up to a marina which also housed the border patrol/customs  on this island. Just across the water is Canada. Many nice places on the water along the island. Around 1:30 we ate lunch at a place recommended by a lady which ran the marina. At first we thought two things, No one in the dining room and it looked too nice for a light lunch. We were surprised that not only was it good it was also reasonably priced. After lunch we left the island and ran the country roads to Sault St Marie. Its a really nice little border town. We just happened on the Soo Locks. We stopped there and watched the freighters come thru. It was very interesting. There was also a little museum about the history of the locks. Heading back to the truck there just happened to be an ice cream shop, so we stopped in for a little visit. Heading on west we came upon the Point Iroquis Lighthouse. We walked the grounds and climbed to the lighthouse. Very steep curvy stairs.  A really vice view of Lake Superior. It was about 6:30 pm so we headed home pretty satisfied with the days find. Built a campfire and just chilled out for the evening.
