July 2 2015 A Round Trip thru the Mountains

It was a nice morning when I got up, About 57  with no wind. Maggie I took our morning walk, there are lots of rabbits here and she really wants to chase them. We had no definite plans for today, we decided to head up to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. We drove up by way of the Golden Canyon Road which brought us to the visitor center. It was a pretty drive up there. At the visitor center they had a trout pond which had some nice fish in it. Of course you couldn't fish there. We left there and drove the "mountain view road" to the other side of the park. No trailers or rvs allowed on this road. I didn't think it was too bad until we got near the top. The switchbacks were almost too narrow for my truck.  Good thing I didn't meet anyone coming the other way.We went to the overlook and you could see for miles. We checked out the campground and we really liked it, your camping at about 9600 ft. We  left and took the route you bring trailers in. We went down to Black Hawk and Central City. I didn't know they had so many casinos here. Left there and took the scenic route 6 back to Golden. It was a beautiful drive. In Golden we ate and Susan went to a quilt shop. I found a nice little place to wait for her. We then headed back to the trailer and chilled the rest of the evening.
