July 17 2016 Travel Day to Dumont Lake near Steamboat Springs Colorado

I didn"t sleep well last night. Woke up a lot and had trouble going back to sleep. I finally got up at 5:45 am. It was only 57 degrees outside. We were not in any hurry this morning but we still got on the road by 9:30 am. We stopped at a rest area and filled up our trailer water tank. Next we stopped in Laramie and ate breakfast at the Iron Skillet. We then headed out down the road. It was a very pretty drive. Near Walden we got close to the Beaver Creek fire. Our pictures really don"t do justice to the scope of the fire. They are saying that it probably will not be out till the first snows. We got to our campground about 12:30. Luckily our site was open. Our spot doesn"t have much shade but it has a great view. There are lots of wild flowers here. There are no hookups here and no water nor dump station. The camp sites are spread out. The elevation here is about 9600 ft. The forecast shows lows in the forties and the highs about 72.  The trailhead to Rabbit Ears Pass starts in our campground. I am not sure we will try it as the air is pretty thin. We will be here for the next 7 days.
